Lights... High speed camera.... Slow motion action!

We have recently taken delivery of our own Photron High Speed Camera!
The opportunities to record at high speed frame rates / shutter speeds and then replay the images in super slow motion will prove invaluable when developing our innovative designs or assessing existing products for our customers.

Our camera records in 1024x1024 mono, providing enhanced light sensitivity compared to a colour camera, which will enhance our capabilities by allowing us to capture ultra clear images of the components, products or systems we are working on.  This will be beneficial to our customers in our design, research & development and testing roles.

Origin’s Adam Stops becomes a CEng IMechE

Yesterday evening our very own Adam Stops received his CEng certificate whilst attending the Evening Dinner for the Presidential Institution of Mechanical Engineers Yorkshire Region.

The Presidential Dinner combines a presentation of certificates to new Fellows and Corporate Members of all grades who have joined the Institution over the past year, together with an opportunity for members and businesses to network and strengthen existing relationships.

Congratulations Adam, great news...

“I am delighted to be awarded the status of Chartered Engineer, and I am proud to be a member of the highly respected Institution of Mechanical Engineers.  My passion, my hard work and my dedication over the years have culminated in this professional qualification.  I hope to apply this newfound status within the innovative and exciting projects we have here at Origin Product Design.”  Adam Stops

Jeannie in the pink

On the recent 'Race for Life' Jeannie, origin product design's own marathon runner, and her team again put themselves in the frame 16th May and raised a laudable £460 for the cause. Well done Jeannie - what's next? Watch this space.

Something in the air…

We're happy to announce and congratulate Tom Kelsey and Kathryn Bell on their engagement. Tom did the right thing and went down on one knee on the golden sands of Holkham beach, Norfolk on the 7th may.  Holkham beach has always been a 'special' place for Tom since he had a near death by drowning experience before being saved by a friendly seal. (no not Steven Sealgal !).

Thankfully Tom and Kathryn will remember the beach for happier reasons from now on. We wish them all the happiness in the future and are looking forward to the wedding announcement. Great stuff!

OriginCobra-tastic

At long last the beast is ready for the road. We just need to finalise the documentation and then we'll be ripping up the tarmac. Many hours have gone into the project ensuring each nut and bolt is perfectly fitted and torqued. Glittering in the sun-light the lustrous metal-flake, origin purple of our Cobra would probably be more suited to Malibu rather than Cambridgeshire even during this fantastic weather. Nevertheless we sure we'll be turning heads…who knows we may even turn up to a few meetings in it. Just isten out for it's throaty roar in a car park near you.
